Magnum Foletto is now Co-CEO at Brasil TecPar and shares his strategic vision

With a solid career full of accomplishments at 38, Chief Executive Officer (Co-CEO) of Brasil TecPar, Magnum Foletto, is an inspiring example for entrepreneurs seeking to achieve a successful presence in the technology market. His journey, which began in his teenage years, is marked by the ability to lead projects and teams, identify business opportunities, and innovate in strategies.

The technological advancement caused by digital transformation increasingly highlights professionals who, despite high demand, manage to reinvent themselves. In this interview, we will explore the Co-CEO's view on the technology field and his professional trajectory leading up to his current position.

When and how did you start in the world of technology? At 13, I began as a computer instructor. When the school where I worked moved to another city, I spent some time giving private lessons. Eventually, the demand increased so much that I decided to start my own school.

When did you realize that bringing connectivity to regions of Brazil was your mission, not just part of the IT market? I have always been fascinated by the ability of technology to transform realities. The internet was a great revolution, and throughout my 25 years of experience, I have worked on various challenging projects. I developed a business vision aimed at creating opportunities and solving problems, as well as engaging people. The purpose became clearer and clearer.

You started early. Do you have any interesting or curious stories to share from this period? In my first week as an instructor, I was assigned to a senior class with students such as accountants, lawyers, judges, police officers, and businesspeople. When I introduced myself, two students complained to the school owner about my young age. He asked for a vote of confidence and said that, after two lessons, he would replace the instructor if they were not satisfied. After 10 lessons, the class not only refused the change but threatened to leave the course if the teacher was replaced.

Your career is filled with significant moments and projects in the market. Can you tell us a little about your positions and experiences? After being an instructor for a year, I opened my own school in the western border of Rio Grande do Sul. Years later, I founded Omega in Santa Maria, in the heart of the state, to help IT professionals in technological training and provide specialized support to companies.

In 2006, Gustavo (CEO of Brasil TecPar) and I merged our businesses, combining IT and Telecommunications.

In 2010, we were awarded by MPE Brazil as the "Best IT Services Company in Brazil."

In 2012, we established the company's long-term vision and I also started to be part of the InternetSul board. Two years later, we implemented one of the state's most critical connectivity projects in record time.

In 2016, we began the process of mergers and acquisitions as a growth strategy and increased our market share in the B2C sector.

In 2018, I became president of InternetSul, a period in which we expanded the entity's representation and held the largest internet provider event in Southern Brazil.

In 2019, we achieved the company's leadership in the state and launched the plan for national expansion.

In 2020, we implemented management support systems and, in the last two years, grew 400% through a series of acquisitions and consolidations, totaling more than 45 operations in the last six years.

Now you are the Co-CEO of the Brasil TecPar group. What are your next steps and how will your role be in this position? We evaluated the dynamics of the executive board and the company's challenges for the coming years. We identified the need for the Co-CEO position to address various issues, primarily internal ones. Our executive team is focused on each area, and my mission is to create an even greater layer of integration between each initiative, as well as support with a systemic view of the business, generating synergies and quick responses to business challenges.

Our goals for 2023 and 2024 include increasing the operating margin, significant organic growth, simplifying and automating processes, and preparing the company for its future vision.

How do you see the company in the coming years? Our vision is to make the company one of the top ten national technology companies within the next five years. We have an incredible team, dedicated and passionate about overcoming challenges, and Brazil needs support in technological transformation and digitalization to increase competitiveness, and we can contribute greatly to this.

Our mission to "simplify people's lives with technology" has always fascinated me.

For you, what is needed to gain space and relevance in the Information Technology field? It is essential to have a firm purpose, a clear vision of the objective, discipline, and persistence. Above all, it is necessary to have people committed to the goals and principles, who believe in the mission and the transformative potential of technology. In addition to these factors, adapting to market changes and innovations is essential; the Technology field is constantly evolving, and staying up to date is crucial for maintaining relevance and competitiveness.
